Mikalo Oy is a rental housing company owned by the City of Mikkeli. Mikalo offers rental apartments throughout Mikkeli. Nearly 10% of Mikkeli’s residents live in Mikalo apartments.

The Mikkeli housing companies include Mikalo Oy’s rental and student apartments, Mikkelin Asumisoikeus Oy, Kiinteistö Oy Ristiinan Suopursu, and approximately 400 apartments owned by the city.
With an agreement that took effect on March 1, 2020, Mikalo Oy and Mikkelin Opiskelija-asunnot Oy have entered into a property management and administration agreement. The companies work together in both resident services and property maintenance and management. On January 1, 2025, Mikkelin Opiskelija-asunnot Oy (MOAS) will merge with Mikalo Oy.
Mikalo Oy also manages the practical operations of Mikkelin Asumisoikeus. A property management and administration agreement was made between the companies on January 19, 2021.
