You can explore the housing projects via the button link below. Apartments can be browsed using different criteria and the view can also be changed to a map view from the upper right corner. You can select multiple districts from the drop-down menu and they will be listed above the property list.
If you cannot find an apartment you like in the list of vacant apartments, still submit an application. Most of the vacant apartments are offered directly on the basis of housing applications. Therefore, not all vacant and vacant apartments are advertised on our website.
Mikalo has almost 4000 apartments around Mikkeli. Our housing stock includes apartments in blocks of flats, terraced houses, semi-detached houses and balcony houses, ranging from small studios to large family apartments. As of 1.1.2025, Mikalo’s housing stock will also include student and youth apartments.
Pets are welcome in all apartments. Almost all our properties have a free laundry room and drying room. And most of the apartments have a 10 Mbit/s internet connection.
Each of our properties has its own designated property manager and maintenance on-call service.
Student housing
Mikalo has more than 700 apartments around Mikkeli. Apartments targeted at students are located in blocks of flats and balcony buildings. There are apartments ranging from shared rooms and small studios to larger youth apartments. All students studying in post-comprehensive school institutions have the opportunity to apply for Mikalo student housing.

Soon available – Mannerheimintie 10a
Our new rental building will be built during 2024-2025 at Mannerheimintie 10a, Mikkeli. Mikalo’s 60 communal housing rental apartments will be completed, primarily targeted at people over 55 years of age.

Non-smoking properties
As of 1.1.2012, smoking was prohibited indoors in all new leases of Mikalo. All our new buildings built after 2011 are non-smoking including the yard areas.

Furnished apartments
Mikalo has a few furnished rental apartments. They are well suited for work assignments or renovations, for example, but they can also be rented for long-term needs. The apartments are available for rent to both private and corporate customers.

Modified apartments
A few three-room apartments (3h+k), can also be rented as a reduced studio apartment, in which case the bedroom doors are locked. The lease agreement is made for a fixed term of 6 months, but the tenant has the right to terminate it with one calendar month’s notice.

Summer residence
You can apply for an apartment with us during the summer if, for example, you are doing summer studies or a summer job in Mikkeli. Summer homes are mainly shared rooms, i.e. rooms in shared apartments, but there are also some other forms of housing available. Contracts shall be concluded for at least one calendar month.

If you are applying for an apartment for the duration of a summer job, select “Not a student” as the educational institution. You can also supplement your information on the Need for housing tab under “Other reasons”. You can apply for an apartment as soon as your summer job or summer study place has been confirmed.
